Not sure if this has been posted yet... There's a new version of ATF Form 4473 in the works. I think the public comment period is over, but... For those who may have problems with your gender identification they've given you another option. Other than that, pretty much SOS with the form except for some of the same information in different places.

This is what they wanted. Firearm info and buyer info all on the first page to easily scan/copy to create a impromptu gun registry.

At one time having a NYS pistol license took care of the need for the instant check and then NY screwed it up. Line 29 brings the license item up. Is it possible ATF recognizes NY pistol licenses again?

One ffl by me said basically the same thing. He said he wouldn't go through with the sale if anything other than Male or female was checked. I really don't get in there much but I'll try to check and see if he's slowing it or not in a couple months

Hmm seems like a controversial situation there but won’t be surprise if FUAC support the sale of all genders. Remember this is NY now, now go adapt to vegan juice and hover boards.

I don't know, FFL 4473 just seems like a really strange form of all of forms to start adding a checkbox for "can't decide on penis or vagina."

I suppose a lot of folks put aspirational numbers down for height and weight. Is ATF going to amend the instructions for those to put whatever figure we identify with?

The box is "Sex" by the way. Not "Gender", which is kind of less relevant for this purpose if you are drawing the distinction.

I guess it's inevitable with all the shit that's going down in 2020 that ATF would see to it that we bring clown world into the gun shops, cause that's what's important.

Cool, I hope he makes his stance known and public.

Easier to weed out the crap that way.

I'll stick with the FFLs that are in favor of more people having guns, and not blinded by their own dumb hate.

The gender identity thing is a distraction! They moved the Firearm Info and the Purchasers Info on to the SAME PAGE!!! The ATF has been illegally photographing and digitally scanning Form 4473s during FFL compliance audits for a few years now. They are legally not allowed to do this. Some FFLs have stopped them from doing this. This new 4473 configuration allows them to grab a scan/photo of all the pertinent information for a firearm registry with one shot/scan. This is the reason for the change, not some gender/SJW bullshit. Otherwise why would they move the firearm info from page3 to page1? They could just have added the extra gender category to the form without changing anything else. Do Not Be Fooled!

I'd generally agree with you but on the other hand so long as FFL's are being sued and held responsible for putting guns in the wrong hands, an FFL should be free to make their own decision that they don't want to arm someone that comes across to them as severely mentally unbalanced.

But now that we have the GENDA act that makes it a crime for a business to so much as use the wrong pronoun, I'd love to see some blue-haired enby check that box and file a complaint against an FFL, and have the New York State human rights division sue them for refusing to sell a gun. That'll be the day.

They are more than welcome to make their own decision.

And if that decision is "this person is trans/whatever, therfore mentally unstable" it shows they aren't making those decisions based on trying to protect people, but rather their own nonsensical beliefs and should not be dealt with.

I'll support the gun store in favor of arming their fellow Americans.

No. We lost that under Spitzer and I have no reason to believe that Cuomo will meet Federal requirements for your permit to ever act as an exemption for NICS.
What amazed me for so long afterwards was how many counties were still handing out those now worthless five year certification forms, long after the NICS exemption was lost. Clearly some pistol permit divisions were not up to speed for years on the issue

The sole blame lies on them for their dumb decisions,
