2 things:This is TSUSA’s response to my question of alternate forms of payment. They say they don’t “itemize purchases”.
Thank you for your inquiry,
While we value your concern, we currently only accept major credit cards (Visa, American Express, Discover and Master Card) for purchases. Your purchases are not reported itemized to your credit card companies by Target Sports USA.
Thank you,
Meghan Erkson

Subject: Payment Methods
In light of the new policy of credit card companies that will involve
tracking and flagging of firearm or ammunition purchases will you be
accepting alternate forms of payment such as personal checks or crypto
currencies? I do not see these as options under payment information This
new policy will, in my opinion put me at risk of being flagged for the
regular purchases I make with you. If not I will need to make different
arrangement in order to purchase ammunition.
Thank You

Don't quote me, but since it's endorsed usually by a major CC company on the front I believe it's processed throughout that CC company. Made sense back in the day that having a million different bank systems processing transactions would be difficult and extremely costly to each bank, and that the existing infrastructure was in place for CC processing through the existing networks to tag onto that infrastructure made more sense. They will force retailers that sell other categories of items such as Cabelas to have a seperate checkout for guns and ammunition. This will fix the coding issue by seperating the sales.
The data generated by this belongs to private companies, and as such, they will do with it as they please. They will share every bit of the data with law enforcement. There will probably be an entirely new division of the ATF set up to scrutinize all the data.
This is another avenue of the whole "cashless society" agenda. Having EVERY transaction run through some form of electronic payment system allows for the complete tracking of everyone. Where you were at what time, and what you purchased will be recorded. That will be matched with your phone's gps system. There will be noplace you can hide. It also means that by hitting a few buttons on a keyboard, you can be completely cut off. It will also cause a black market of sorts, where people will barter for items and services.
Because I don't know the answer, when you use your bank debit card, is that transaction processed through one of the credit card companies and therefore coded as well, or is that processed by the bank itself ?
Soo, are you contemplating a purchase? So if I purchase the aforementioned bag o' dicks at an FFL I would be flagged the same as buying a gun?
Soo, are you contemplating a purchase?
Cuz you kinda outed yer self before the CC company; way to get out in front of it!
Never liked AMEX. Never had the card and never accepted it in my office.
Screw them, I buy a Walmart Visa Debit card ($4.95 to activate) and I do not register it with the card company , NO tracing.
That's the point, no CC transaction. Some places only take cash to buy them type of cards too LOL ..
