I'd like to see Texas or some big mostly red state pass a voter registration law that just references the NY permit law.

Not duplicates it, but specifically references it.

As long as they keep playing "well, you meant well, but just interpreted the law wrong" game, the shenanigans will continue forever.

I disagree and the fewer arms of the government with powers the better. The only thing I would support is they could only issue arrest warrants for judges and politicians and only them.
