I was going to ask...But, But, But, you get to carry a machine gun!

With enough money you can get anything you want in NY.I was going to ask...
How does an off-duty officer get to carry a submachine gun (full auto)? Aren't they off-limits?
Type 7 FFL and type 2 or 3 SOT and some state licenses and they're good to go.There's absolutely zero legal mechanism to facilitate such an arrangement. It would be illegal.
The irony....no....hypocrisy is simply stunning.
Probably cheaper and easier for the elite to get their security badges than licenses then. Not happening. I never encountered private security with anything more than handguns in NYC. In fact, even Israeli special forces/secret service had to deal with regular average NYPD cops for help because they could only carry handguns. I did UNGA nearly every year of my career and spent 4 of those sessions guarding a high profile hotel that always held Netanyahu.
I've stood during high profile event briefings numerous times where every agency was present and representative from any private security, including from foreign nations and NYC's highest profile businesses.
If you see someone with a machine gun in NYC, they are Feds, State Troopers or specialized NYPD units. Period.

I've declined two offers so far for these jobs. I wouldn't take one for any amount of money. I'm sure every recently retired cop is fielding these same calls. I hope they think long and hard before opting for these positions. These are the people voting in, supporting, and financing the very mobs that chased us out of policing and will make up the threats they're being hired to face.
If a cop can't defend themselves without facing PERSECUTION these days, do you really think a private security guard can?
How great would it be if a crew of security just simply walked off the job just as the riots start? The ultimate eff you to these people. Shades of a tyler durden move.
