the stupid thing only gives the authorities an idea of which direction the shot was fired from. which can be a very large area

For those not familiar with Newburg, it's not that big, unless this thing can pinpoint within a block it would be useless, cameras on every corner would be cheaper and more effective at gathering potential suspects after shots are fired. Wire the shot recognition into the camera itself, you,ll cover a smaller area and would be able to have immediate play back of the suspect.

not cost effective at all. Red Light Cameras are about $90,000 each.....plus data storage (the one thing EVERYONE forgets to mention when talking about legal issues and cameras. Even body cameras) a shot locating camera would be astronomically expensive
