Side note, one of the "unionized" Starbucks near me no longer has enough staffing toan the store and it's now drive thru only. I'm sure corporate is going to try and phase out these locations.

It will just force more cost-cutting among the franchise owners. All of the fast food locations down here already use kiosks for ordering. They have only one or two cashiers that also act as order preparers/baggers/servers.
Just like when minimum wage was initially developed: Those who remain employed will make more. Those who become unemployed due to costs of labor will be further behind when they cannot even afford to purchase the food that they once served.
Yep. I sold a restaurant last year and remember when minimum wage went from $4.25 to $8 something for servers. Server overlap was cut along with 1 out of 2 hostess. They all made less, I had to make the same.

I went to a Burger King somewhere (nowhere, really) near Myrtle Beach last week. Their sign said hiring UP TO $10/hr. I don't thing the food or service made their staff worth $5/hr. Around here they advertise hiring 15 year olds starting at $14.
Recently in Rochester I saw a sign for a local subway hiring starting at 18/hr. One has to knock your hours would be severely reduced to match cost as @Blackjack stated above. The rate sounds nice to many, but know the house have to be limited.
