Kim A. Snyder’s documentary “Newtown” is often extraordinarily difficult to watch and yet, as I watched it, I felt a visceral need to see up close how the Connecticut community coped with the aftermath of the 2012 shooting that left 20 students and six staff members dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School (and, scandalously, did not lead directly to changes in gun-control laws).

I am not back-peddling my previous post; I do indeed feel bad for those children. Someday, all of the truths will be known. No child ever, deserves what they went through.

The parents are trying to use their deaths and this tragic event to better themselves and to take something away from others. Both are wrong.

I have no thoughts on the matter. A tragedy? Yes maybe, but we don't even know what happened. Way too much censorship, cover ups, lies to give an opinion on.

A little honesty on this matter might have helped things a little bit. All that has come of this is the "us vs them" attitudes.

Im still convinced that the shooter did not use an AR. That it was a political decision in the executive branch to exploit a tragedy for political gain. The original story was hand guns and may be a shot gun was used. It changed 24 hours later when the DOJ became involved. Which was why nobody and his brother were not allowed to see the crime scene, or autopsy reports , and officers were sworn to secrecy.
There was definitely a cover up of some kind going on there.

I'll go on as far as saying the whole thing was staged. From the evidence that the school was closed before the incident, to the shotgun blasts in the window that was impossible to be created from a .223 round, to Eric Holder meeting with Malloy right before and after the incident, to the scheduled Fema drill on the same day, to the rest in peace Facebook page created 3 days before the teacher's death, to the crisis actors used in previous and subsequent tragedies, to quite a number of victims families being members of the screen actors guild, to the coroner claiming to find .223 bullets in children's bodies, to the guy caught in the woods with camouflage fatigues, to the gag orders, to the denial of information requests even by skeptical law enforcement officers, to the lack of bodies, to one of the kids admitting it was a drill, to the lack of ambulances going in and out of the scene, to the demolishing of the crime scene, to the actors going around in circles at the firehouse, to the oh hell....I can go on forever.

Flame away. All this is available for research. You can believe that the Obama administration along with Hillary, the FBI, and the main stream media is capable of conspiracy for emails, fast and furious, and the election but definitely not for something like this.

A disgrace that Newtown is not remembered for the young lives that were lost, but rather for the anti-gun platform that it created. These people are not undergoing psychological therapy because of the inability to cope with the senseless deaths. Rather they are being treated for the inability to comprehend that this tragedy did not result in total gun confiscation.
The media should receive 100% of the blame do to encouraging a mentally unstable child to perform such an act because of relentlessness news coverage that these tragedy's receive. Think about it. Its like water boarding. The simple process can take a normal human and make him mental unstable. And we start with a mentally unstable individual, so what would you expect???

Waaayyyy too many questions unanswered, too many contradicting claims, lack of typical "SOP" ( standard operating procedures" from start till finish, too may scratch your head how'd that happen moments.

What happened was horrible. One cannot even begin to imagine. I don't enjoy the idea of even mentioning
anything around these type of events, specially out of respect and sadness too. Something needed to be done but
the problem is that we seem to do all the wrong things.

Now we have more officially designated criminal safe-heaven campuses and areas.
this means more people are going to be killed, that is criminal. Either put a secured perimeters
or allow staff, teachers, parents or whoever with a carry permit to be able to defend themselves.
Nobody has the right to continue to expose people this way.

When we are changing laws why we don't just put signs in airports and avoid all the security headaches
to enter a safe area? Is it that fellow travelers deserve preferential treatment over our kids?

Gun free zones w/o a secure perimeter are something illegal. It will happen again and most likely
in a gun free zone like always. This makes me very mad and very sad in deed.

I guess the way I think about Newtown is the same way I think about 9/11. Put aside the conspiracy theories, the death and destruction, the human drama and look at the aftermath and the outcome. Both incidents have led us down a path where our rights are being removed piece by piece and both events are being used as justification for that process. For Newtown is was guns and our right to self defense (against individuals and the government). For 9/11 it was privacy, cruel and unusual punishment, speedy trial, secure in papers, effects, etc.

And what does the general US population think about all this? Many think it's great. We're going to be protected from terrorists...no more kids are going to die...etc. When the reality is none of that is true. The rest are too busy keeping up with the Kardashians or feigning outrage over locker room talk that was said on TV by a current Presidential candidate (no one cared 11 years ago when those words were spoken so why all the outrage all of a sudden. Better yet where's the outrage when a US Ambassador and diplomatic staff were butchered in Libya because Hillary Clinton couldn't be bothered to send extra security forces?).

The vast majority of the American populace doesn't care one way or the other about the real issues and consequences of these events.

Fear has been used through our entire human history as a method for control.
Politicians are very good about exploiting fear to their advantage. This is nothing new.
What is new is that the population being totally complacent and letting the Politicians and Lawyers get away with whatever they want.
Keeping people ignorant and polarizing the people on subjects that should be of common interest is their favorite strategy.

But is it their fault or out fault for getting complacent, confortable and allowing this to happen?
