The problem is that we have generations of Liberals who worship government. They believe that government gives and rescinds rights. They are uneducated in the founding of this nation and they care not for the preservation of their own natural rights as long as their feelings are validated in the echo chamber of progressivism.
I have long cited the 9th Amendment as a "trump card" in many of these debates. It was one of the key amendments cited in Roe v. Wade (14th being the linchpin) which centered on the "right to privacy".
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
I think it should be argued that whatever means a person possesses for preserving their unalienable right to life is a matter of personal privacy, no less than what the lefties call "settled law" in Roe v. Wade. Additionally, that argument would be for an enumerated Constitutional right, not some manufactured right by legal sleight of hand.
