Bet it was a Glock "Safe" Pistol...There's a reason the Military refused to adopt them.

I prescribe to the notion that there are no gun related accidents only negligence, carelessness or blatant stupidity. Not sure where to classify this shooting, but it isn't an accident.

It was advanced training.

This is what is called a negligent discharge.

The person was pointing and shooting at an object that they clearly didn't intend to want to shoot.

If one of us peons did this to ourselves, we'd have our guns confiscated, permit revoked, and we'd be charged with negligent discharge of a firearm.

My father and a friend/neighbor started up a rod & gun club in the town of Fenner. I think it was called the Fenner Rod & Gun Club, but not totally sure of that... I was only 6-7 years old at the time and this was 65 or so years ago. Anyways, pop would have folks up to the house and he'd do the hunter safety classes so they could get their hunting licenses. So.... one day pops comes home from a day of deer hunting. He stomps the snow off his boots and takes off his heavy leather/wool chaps, and sits on the stool next to the potbelly stove in the kitchen. He pulls his .22 Colt Huntsman sidearm out intent on unloading it. All of a sudden BANG. Pop shoots himself in the leg. Mom totally freaks and off to the hospital they go. Needless to say dear ol' dad took quite a ribbing from his hunting buds. But hey, shit happens LOL.
