The US constitution is inapplicable to New York state. It simply doesn’t apply. Neither the second or first amendment or any other.

If the constitution was enforced then yes you cannot arrest people for gathering. I imagine in some other states this would be shut down fast.

The first, second, third, etc amendments are just words on paper that have been trampled upon so many times. They are worthless. Voting solves nothing and most of us are too comfortable (myself included) to take a stand of any value. We currently have more to lose than we do to gain by starting something that will have any kind of impact.

you sir, would be correct. there are 9 million people in NYC, I care about maybe 50 of them, including forum members. I got family that live there. but thats their choice. doesn't mean I have to care about the others

Well, I don't personally think the R's (or C's) are any better than the D's (or L's) at the state or federal level. Nobody does anything besides passing more and more laws that infringe on people's liberties or steal more from our paychecks. Just because a certain faction infringes on one groups liberties or spends tax money in a different way makes them a better choice IMO.

I see NYC as a microcosm of my above comments.

The founding fathers never intended anything to be this way, but here we are. And generations of "We" are responsible for what it has become. What have you done to try and fix the problem? I know what I have done and contributed toward. When things go another way I will be there to contribute as well, but until that day comes this may be the only course.

If yore fighting to maintain Liberty in NYC you've already lost, in fact you're about 30 years too late. No ones getting removed because "they" enjoy being sheep. That's all NYC is now is one big sheeple pen where most people look to nanny government to take care of them. Problem is, they infect the rest of the state with their big daddy government.

LOL, next year we are going mobile, The BLM (Bureau of Land management) and COE (Corp of Engineers) has about 300 million acres of land to camp on, most of it for free. We are going to buy an RV and live full time in the wilderness. The "plan" is already set in motion. We have already been in talks with a solar panel and battery company to install solar on a RV,(whichever one we end up buying) so we have a good idea of what the costs will be, we will be using a composting toilet, and we have a Berkey water filtration system for potable water. We will be able to stay in the wilderness indefinitely, as long as we are near a water source, except for the occasional trip to a grocery store. We will Domicile in South Dakota and just keep moving when necessary.

Face it, no one in the city cares if their rights are stepped on as a result of this virus. If they did, there would be protests. People would stand up and make a statement. Have you seen any do it? They do in other cities and states.

In upstate many are simply ignoring orders sent down from Albany. I see many 'non-essential' businesses open and no one is lifting a finger to shut them down. If a business owner wants to open, open. Its up to individuals to decide to frequent these businesses or not.

Nothing. Ive done exactly nothing. It's a lost cause. I've learned over time that it's unhealthy to focus on things you have no ability to change. That's probably where we disagree. I'm inferring from the above that you think things are salvageable at the state and/or federal level.

I realize that freedom begins between the ears and just because someone writes something on a piece of paper doesn't make me any less free.

There is only one solution IMO. A reset, if you will. And I believe it will happen in our lifetime or that of our children.

This is a rapidly growing trend and something i wouldn't mind doing either
