No legal issues reselling an air rifle in [upstate] NY state right?

I know "firearms" require an FFL for private party resell. I also know that an air rifle is legal to sell at Walmart without any sort of back ground check as long as the person is 18. If I meet somebody and sell it to them, as long as I am sure they are 18 there is nothing else legal to worry about right? I only check because I just never know with NY; for all I know maybe Walmart or other establishments have some license that a private person doesn't have.

So, I'm 99% sure this is a stupid question, but it is 1% so that 1% makes me post this almost certainly stupid topic.

at least skimming the word "air rifle" it does appear illegal to sell in new york city.

I would not sell it in NYC. I know many stores won't ship them to NYC or Buffalo. You also might end up being surrounded by cops knowing the people that live in NYC.
