Unfortunately the FFLs in the county will still have to comply with federal laws or risk losing their licenses and getting arrested on federal crimes.
They are using the president that federal laws do not apply. Just as they do not for illegal immigrants. There wouldn't need to be an FFL. Anyone can open up shop and sell to anyone. The groundwork is already there. They are just expanding it to guns now.
As nice as this would be to have the 2A applied in the manner to which it was intended, I doubt highly this defense will hold up in court. Because you can guarantee the Feds WILL arrest people and put a stop to it...

Plenty of instances where people manufactured / sold are sitting in Club Fed already.
Will this county be footing the legal bills for unlicensed FFL's? People who build DIAS?
they aren't doing so in sanctuary cities for illegals. This is no different. As said - they are following the groundwork already there and accepted. They will vote it into law shortly it seems. Can't have it both ways. It's already been given the green flag.

Could the FBI or Marshalls arrest the leadership of a sanctuary city? Sure, I suppose. Will they? Unlikely.

Has noting to do with this. Plenty of people who ________ are in jail has nothing to do with laws being passed to make everything legal in this case.
Well just have to see how it goes. It's never been done before but they are following along the same path that already exists for illegals. A classic case of be careful what you wish for.

It's a sanctuary. There would be nothing to investigate just as they aren't investigating the illegals pouring into the cities and in fact pay them benefits. This is what happens when you open the door. It's all but impossible to close again. Stay tuned!

When Cali first legalized the weed the Feds where still busting shops and growers. That was a state law not just county.

You can bet your ass the BATFE will take a very special interest in the goings on in that county if that law is passed. I also doubt the local sheriff will be sticking his and his department's neck out to stop ATF agents coming to make arrests on big time federal charges. Maybe if they did, that law might matter, but as it is the feds will definitely target that spot.
Also, just because sanctuary areas exist for illegals doesn't mean the feds don't show up and nab illegals to deport from there. ICE doesn't abide by those local laws, they go in and enforce federal law. All those laws do is make it so that the localities don't help the feds to enforce those laws and actually hinder the feds by not reporting when an illegal gets arrested, gets in a car accident, etc.

Wasn't there already some cases similar to this out of Kansas? I think the State of Kansas had passed some laws that legalized NFA roster items as long as they were manufactured and sold within the state. I believe that the rational was that the NFA specifically was based around interstate commerce so if the items were made and possessed within the state that the federal law was moot. I remember some guys were getting jammed up about some suppressors but haven't heard anything about it in awhile. I think that some federal court ruling said intrastate or interstate was irrelevant.
So the right is finally playing the game with the same rules the left has been for a decade.

I can envision other conservative counties doing the same thing. You know there are counties in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Texas etc just watching to see how this plays out.
And as it has been pointed out already, Sanctuary doesn't mean anything to the Feds. All it means is that LOCAL officials are NOT Assisting the Feds with Deportation and Enforcement efforts. That does NOT mean Feds don't have the authority. All this Sanctuary City BS has just made the job of ICE harder. It has not made them close up shop. They absolutely have 100% Authority regardless of any local ordinance. It is the same reason Marijuana shops and growers CAN be arrested on Federal charges even though the State has legalized or decriminalized it. Just because the Feds CHOOSE not to pursue something, does not mean they have relinquished their right to do it. And you can bet Asses to Teakettles, Balls to Bones... IF the BATFE wants to pursue charges against someone for violating Federal Firearms laws, they damn sure will. And NO state or local law is going to able to stop it. Hell, I've seen the Feds take over criminal cases just to get a more extreme sentence. So don't ever think that a Sanctuary Law (Which aren't even laws per se) or local directive makes someone untouchable. In 2019 over 267,000 people were deported by ICE...
