My club has it's 400 acre pheasant preserve across the street from me. I don't know how, when, who, or if true, but the No Trespassing signs state that it is a "Licensed Shooting Preserve". We did have some marked posts in the ground that marked 500ft from roadways. (they need to be replaced.) We also have a rule no loaded long guns in parking lot and they should not be loaded until you reach the 500ft marker on the entrance trail.
A few of the new folks in new homes around here tried to shut it down. The club answered that if they lost in court, the club had a generous offer from a private landfill company, and that's who they would sell to.
The new folks preferred the shooting preserve.

Hire a Dump Truck to just sit outside the residence raising the box, then letting it come down where the tailgate slams into the back....couple hours of that and the Range will seem quiet.

Any time you buy, it's caveat emptor (buyer beware or the buyer alone is responsible to assess and take on any risks). If you don't do your homework, it sucks to be you. All you have to do is let your fingers do the walking on the interwebs. Google maps shows what businesses are in the area. Your assessment department shows the tax maps and assessments as well as the owners of the parcels. Your village, city, town and or county posts it's zoning regulations and local laws. But annoying Karen's will always assert Karen privilege when the status quo ante (the way things were before) does not suit them.

The municipality bears some responsibility whenever there is an intersection of properties of different zoning types. When the housing developer comes in and wants to do a subdivision, the city should have required a berm and vegetation to provide a buffer. The fact that the adjacent properties are on the line between 2 different jurisdictions and the range was preexisting provides some impetus for the authority to put restrictions on the developer. This is a good reason for common sense citizens who practice their gun rights to serve on the city/town/vllg/county board (law making body) or zoning/planning board (interpretive quasi judicial body) in their locality to check the BS that Karen's, NIMBIY's (Not In My Back Yard) or IGMFSNYCHY (I Got Mine First So Now You Can't Have Yours) bring to your locality.

I like the story of the trailer park resident who doesn't like a lot of noise at certain times. He goes out and rounds up the kids in the trailer park neighborhood and tells them that once a week, he will buy each of them an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck if they keep their noise out of his part of the park during certain hours. Noise = no ice cream reward, quiet = ice cream reward. The kids want the reward, so problem solved.

We have the same issue in our town with the rod and gun club and neighboring owners who recently bought complaining about the noise. Too bad, so sad.
