Non-licensee shipping handgun to Licensee, same State

I am trying to pin down the REQUIREMENTS for a private individual ( non-licensee ) to ship a handgun to a Licensee ( FFL holder ) within the same State. In particular NYS. I understand that some FFL holders might require certain information that they personally want to accept a handgun from an individual. I am interested in what is required by law. Both Federal and State.
I know that a Non-licensee cannot ship a handgun via USPS. They must use FedEx or UPS and both require that the handgun be shipped "next day" service as well as be made known that the package contains a firearm. But, just what is required by law in regards to documentation supplied to the receiving FFL from the sending private individual?

For pistols you need to give the FFL your NYDL and NY Permit. Make copies and box them with the gun when you send.

Obviously, be sure the ffl you send to gives you a receipt so you can take it off of your permit.

Thanks for the Info. Makes sense. The Drivers Lic. and Handgun Lic. was what I was thinking. Just wanted to be sure there was not some other requirement I was missing.

Actually if this transaction comes to fruition I will be the purchaser. Problem is I am not sure
the seller will be agreeable with the requirements.
Got any suggestions on how to make this happen with the seller in Buffalo and the buyer in the capital District? Without breaking the bank of course.

Have the seller take it to a local FFL and that way the FFL will give the seller a receipt so he or she can get it off their permit.

From there the FFL can send it to your local FFL.

You will wind up paying for shipping most likely.

I just shipped a gun FedEx overnight. It cost me $62.00. I'm not sure what FFL charges and USPS priority would cost.

I am actually about 20 miles up the river from Albany and I have a guy I use that is a 15 minute drive from my house. No store front and the fee is as reasonable as anyones at $25.00.
The issue will more than likely be on the other end. Price on the purchase is a premium and I would pay it. However, the seller will want all expenses paid by the buyer. When you add the costs on his end for FFL and / or shipping to my cost for transfer on my end , said premium goes beyond what I would be willing to pay. I am not that desperate to own the pistol.
Sucks to try and buy or sell a firearm in this State!

No permit. And it has to do with who I live with and the fact that I can't get a permit while I live in the same house as them, which is all I can afford to do at the moment.
