Non threaded Handgun Comp. Finally (well soonish)

I dont think it's a secret that I really want to put a comp on some of my handguns, And thanks to Cuomo keeping me safe that isnt an option in the traditional way. Currently there is only a few options
1) dont
2) ported barrel
3) strike industries frame mounted (doesnt actually work based on reviews)
4) weld comp on, debatable on legality and to permanent for some people
5) Weapons Armament Research's "Lock On Compensator" which was the best option for New York, downside they only did 2 releases and haven't made or sold any in a long time (oh and aesthetics)


Well looks like W.A.R. just announced they will be releasing a traditional style threaded compensator for Gen 4 and 5 glocks very soon, so had to ask..... any chance of a non threaded version

Good if it were aluminum welding it would be very difficult.

This one wouldn't need to be wielded once they do the L.O.C. system for it. The Lock On Compensator uses a threadless barrel

I looked it up that is pretty cool and and best yet a G34 holster will work with it. It would be nice to see some independent reviews to know if it actually makes a difference.

Here seems to be the only real major indept review of the first gen
Problem was they cost $400 and only did 2 production runs

IDN how i found one but i go super LUCKY. Found it on SKJALDBORG / Firearms and Accessories

I was searching War-loc for sale in google and was just clicking away to see if i could find anyone selling. Landed there. They were liquidating their website and i got it for $315. Last one...Also live in NY.

As for a review. I received it last week and shot it with and without the comp. You can Definetly tell the difference between a non comped 19 and a comped 19.

Also love the design of this one

Have you checked out mayhem syndicate cali comp? That is also a lock on type comp.

Sadly the mayhem cali comp is still tech threaded, it's just a proprietary thread and they even say to just weld over the roll pin to make it cali legal (also I do believe the new version that is on pre-order right now is going to be using a different barrel than the s3f, and I've heard mixed stuff about the different barrel company just cant remember who they are off hand)

I'm probably going to wait for the new WAR comp what ever they choose to call it

I dont know a lot about compensators but wonder it the affects of this are due to the added weight, since it does not direct the gasses up pushing the barrel down.

Compensators do direct gasses up and to the left and right. The added weight helps with muzzle flip but the total weight of the comp is less than 2 0z.

I knowwhat they do, I was asking in the sense that I didnt undertandem how 71 was saying the thing with all the holes on the top isnt directing the gasses up?

The top holes bring the muzzle down, the sides bring it forwars

I thought that it had holes all the way around a second look I noted it does not have holes in the bottom. Makes more sence to me not.

Compensators do direct gasses up and to the left and right. The added weight helps with muzzle flip but the total weight of the comp is less than 2 0z.

a tungsten guide rod is about 1.25 more than stock and helps with flip so the close to 2 oz hanging off the end of the barrel should make a pretty notable difference even if the gas release doesent.

thats how the Strike Industries seems to do it from what reviews have said
that thing is almost 4oz (3.7oz)

I also run a Surefire X300. Which is I think 4 0z and change. I tested the comp with the light, without the light and the comp, with the light and no comp and nothing at all. The weight does make a very small difference. But the difference between 4 oz at the end of a gun and a bullets gasses being ejected out of a port from a 9mm round traveling approximately 1,150 ft per second (115 grain) is a total difference. Ports defiantly make a significant difference, weight makes a small difference.

If you have an opportunity to test one out you would def. see. I ported my glock 34 barrel and it was also a huge difference.

I agree man. Supposedly the original design was suppose to mimic the jet engine of a f-14. The guy who designed it was a fighter pilot. I think he will probably sell it together. I’m assuming the barrel and comp is proprietary. I emailed him months ago and he’s trying to get the cost down on it. So hopefully it isn’t an arm and a leg.

Honestly I don’t know much about barrels as I would consider myself amateur at best. But I do have an agency barrel. From what I read Blacklist is very good.

Loki tactical ported mine for $60. It’s a tradition Glock ported cut. 2 ports. As seen in picture
Mod K armory also does what they call their “flat pack package” I think. They will do the port and slide cut. Their ports are small holes instead of what you see above and they do a bunch of them. I think it’s like 8 ports on a 19 (they are side by side). Or just 4 ports down the center of the barrel.

Having ports or comps make it a fun plinker. Now sure I would port a CCW weapon because the gases supposedly emit a flash out the top of the gun at night

I will say this. Porting will not make you a better shooter. But it will bring your muzzle back quicker to the target. On my 34 the red dot basically doesn’t leave the small RMR window. My shots are quicker but my accuracy is the same. I will check out the thread! At work now LOL

That is a killer G34!!!!! Maybe I will get mine ported.

I found the ports are no issue in the dark. I buddy has a g22 factory ported and we tried it in the dark, no difference. Also shot it side by side with a nonported and it did make a difference in recoil control.

I’m assuming we won’t see the war-loc again. Based on that quote. Look out for his a-10 warcomp with the loc-on soon. Bet he does a small production of the loc on version.
