I would like to collect a rattle snake for the rattles and then have the hide tanned for my gun room and I know people who eat them so that is a posibillity.

As far as hunting the pythons and boas down in Florida that will happen on my next vacation trip there. I'll take my T/C 410/45 down for that. I like the fishing over on Sanibel island west of Fort Myers Beach so a trip to the eveglades isn't that far to drive. Besides the T/C with the one shot I'll have one of my 357magnum or 44 magnum revolvers for back up loaded appropreate for the occasion.

If I get back over to Cabelas I might pick up that NNA Mini 22 if they still have it.

I went to Cabelas today to pick up the NAA mini 22, they sold it this morning. So I took that money and added $50 to it and put a 4th Generation Glock 17 on lay-away at Buds Guns.
I'll get more use out of the Glock any way. 17 rounds of 9mm beats the hell out of 4 or 5 rounds of 22lr.
$546 shipped to my FFL guy.

Ive been wanting an NAA Guardian, but not liking 32 or 380. Id be okay with 22lr though, esp at that size.

I'm with you. I'm pretty sure there are protected snakes. Eastern Diamondback? Timber Rattler? I think one that is protected is a short fat rattlesnake.

Change my original post to a "protection Gun" instead of SNAKE GUN and your asking the same questions of me and why I need a "snake gun"/"protections gun" as the anti gunners ask of why we need a sporting rifle.Why we need more then one gun, Why do we even need a gun when its illegal to kill living things, Some times I think this forum has people on it that are actually anti gun with the comments and post that are made here.

Not about you shooting snakes! It's about posting it on a open forum!! I don't like snakes and was surprised when I read it in the DEC hunting manual that they are protected in NY! Know the laws and regulations and you wouldn't get jammed up!!

Nope no snowflake here. And I certainly like guns as much as the next guy if not more. I think my first question was legit and showed no bias. It was asking if the gun was for actively hunting snakes or for dispatching. Then it went on to ask if for dispatching don't the snakes usually flee at the first sign of danger. I see absolutely no need to kill snakes unless their in your house or actively attacking you (which they don't tend to do) but if you want to kill snakes have at it.

If I was looking for a "snake gun", I'd want something I could hit a snake with. Good luck hitting something half dollar sized 10 feet away with the NAA. 2 legged snake, no problem though.

If you like it, get it. I know I've spent more and gotten less. I view that tiny revolver as more of a novelty though.

Wow, this turned out to be a pissing match.

misunderestimated, if you want a good snake gun that can be used for rats and other creatures at short distances get yourself a Bond d. they off several different receivers and all of their barrels are interchangable with all of their receivers.

I have the Cowboy Defender with the three inch 410/45LC barrel, I bought it used for $385 at a gun show and it came with a leather holster. Loaded with #6 shot 410 would kill any snake at close range.
Loaded with 410 Buckshot and you have a great car gun for personal protection. In the fall it makes a great pocket gun in your vest or jacket.
The barrels start out in 22lr and go way up to 44 magnum with a bunch or calibers in between.

I like the QUALITY of the Bond Derringers.

I have two other 38spl derringers and only occasionally carry them. But the Bond is different, I carry it the most when I want to carry a derringer for shooting rats at the farm or as a personal protection gun.
I would like to buy some extra barrels for it.

Yesterday I stopped at a gun store up where we are working to pick up some 22 shorts for my grandson to shot tomorrow and they have new 22lr NAA revolvers for $219. They had a 22mag, but I didn't look at the price tag.
