The word Magazine is mentioned 27 in Heller, like most court decisions, a full on and clear cut determination was never made in the decision in regards to Mags.
This has always been and will always be an issue. There is not enough ink and paper to cover each and every aspect of a firearm; allowing more and more of these stupid restrictions to come. Leave the doors wide open to even more interpretation.
I really wish a court would once and for all grab their balls and rule on everything at once.

Well, triggers aren't protected then either! Because it's the firing pin that creates the spark, next they'll remove them, have a separate serial # on them and a waiting period after you get you firearm to collect your trigger. NY already banned typical use stocks, why not disassemble the entire thing and attack the 2nd part, by part!
The malfeasance exhibited toward this one RIGHT is non-stop and ongoing. Evident and exhibited as part of an agenda, not public necessity, nor safety either! Doesn't matter what part it is "today" an arm brace, here a magazine, next the sights... Is ridiculous! It's all a joke! And the program is, like here in NY, just keep throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, legislate unconstitutional laws, and have the masses fight for years for relief from the courts. All the while, you've gotten what you wanted anyways and most of the time, without a single precedent setting case enter a courtroom!

The second that officer retires, that weapon becomes contraband . And some officers have to buy their own firearms for work and are out of luck when they retire.
It’s less about why do they get to have it than why can’t you have it.
The argument that the police should only have what an average gun owner can falls on deaf ears in Albany. And if such a law were to pass, the politicians would not hesitate to take away the guns from the police too.
I understand your issue. I miss the ability just to be able to walk into a gun store and be able to walk out with a new handgun like someone in a free state.
