the economics don't make sense because the numbers are skewed. For example: the GDP for "downstate" is $875 BILLION and Upstate is $368 billion. But that GDP includes wall street profits. Remove those and the number even out.

I have no issue with NYshitty becoming a district. Upstate will survive just fine
Wall Street-good point.

how much crap was invented in NYshitty?

Rochester... things that were invented and HQ here: Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Bausch and Lomb...... all have moved away....anyone want to guess why? and taxes isn't the real reason. The real reason, is the hostile business climate perpetuated by a corrupt governing body.

Syracuse... *was* home to Carrier industries....they moved---wonder why?

someone name one thing that was invented/manufactured in NYshitty.

North country, all they have is Fort Drum....the north country will always be a tourist destination. It's to far away to be a manufacturing economic viable location. Especially in the winter. Transportation costs, along with high taxes make it unsuitable for manufacturing. Even "Tech companies" won't move to the north country. Although if they could reduce taxes enough, you might be able to get a start up company up there.

Here's the problem with NYS business

New Yorkistan dept of Tax and Finance treats all small business in the state as a open pit gold mine. they have a singular goal, take every penny you make. They don't want to help you, they don't care if you succeed, they don't care about your employees. They care about your money and they want it.
Remington used to be a industrial powerhouse in the day.
