I found this amazing with the level of incompetence, neglect and follow through on the states part. Do inspections annually, but do nothing about it except write a report. All this coming from PA where annual car inspection includes failure for "rust holes in body". If the floor boards in your car are rusty you cant drive your vehicle, but a bridge can have holes big enough to throw a cat through are perfectly fine.

Pittsburgh has plenty of bridges....as does NYS.......RT81 thru Syracuse has chains attached between the main beams......... to keep them from spreading further apart on their verticle piers....some fixed......

You know, I've been complaining about the highways in the southern tier for quite a while, 17/86, 88, and 81 being prime examples.

I drove through Albany and up 87 last week. What a difference. Now I know where all the highway maintenance money is going. Sheesh.

Geeeeee. Where could we find some money to spend to repair bridges? Maybe we could borrow some from "newcomers"?
