NY carry permit holders that have Pa permits?

Are you sure with NY and PA you get gun rights in 31 states? That seems wrong to me.
I have both NY and PA. I don’t go to many other places so never really looked into it too much. I love in Buffalo area and I went to Erie PA it was $20. I applied on a Monday and received it Friday of the same week.

Looks like NY resident permit is honored by 23 states by itself so not surprised you pick up 6 more with PA non-resident. As others said it may depend residency status of additional state license. You can check on reciprocity maps on some sites such as USA Carry

I got my PA last year in Scranton. 25 minutes, 20$. Just don't use the online form, use the on at the office. It's 21$ if you don't have a photo copy of your license. I also have my Florida permit.

Just one phone call will get you your answer. Since each county has different rules and they can change I'd call before going.

I've done Scranton twice now. $20 + 20 minutes and I was back on the road with my LTC in hand.

Photo ID. Cash. Your NY permit. That's all you need.
If you want to help things along, bring a completed PA LTC application and photocopies of your NY permit and driver license. (They will make copies there, but the gals behind the desk are always happy when you make a little less work for them.) They will take your photo there and print it on the issued LTC.

You can also email Sheriff Loomis directly. He's normally very good about responding.

It changes.. here's an article from about 8 months ago, stating that 32 states recognized the Pa permit...
However things DO change each year, and it may be less.. Last time I checked, my combined NY/Pa permits were recognized by 31 states, but I am not sure how current the information was, and what the actual for certain number is...
It really sucks not knowing if you go from being a law abiding upstanding citizen to a wanted felon thats headed to prison just becaused you crossed the wrong state line where your carry weapon is NOT wanted... bob

These 32 states will honor Pa. concealed carry. Most of our neighbors aren't on the list.

Look. It’s really easy to see how many states honor whatever permits you have whether resident or non resident. Just click on the states from the link that @cgrutt provided on the map and select whether the permit you have for each state is a resident or a non resident permit
The map is accurate. I check it against actual states reciprocity agreements all the time.

You'll need a NYC permit as you're within the 5 boroughs... not a premises permit but an actual carry permit. SOME PA counties do not care about restrictions on your permit, particularly Center County (State College PA). Others want to see an unrestricted carry permit. It depends...typically closer to a state border or urban area they're more picky.

It may be worth mentioning that a NH non-resident CCW does not require you to produce a CCW from your home state, can be ordered via mail, and unless it's changed recently, is recognized by PA. Just throwing that out there...

From what I have been told by my customers, Susquehanna county is issuing non-resident permits. I know for awhile they stopped doing it.

The reciprocity agreements with both New Hampshire and Florida were rewritten in 2018. Both now reflect reciprocity only for residents of the respective states.

PA no longer allows you to carry on any nonresident permit or license except for their own.

My understanding is that is no permit required for open carry in Pennsylvania at all, unless you are in a vehicle or in the City of Philadelphia. Having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, even in plain sight, is considered concealed and requires a LTC.

Go to Erie Pa .gov website, down load the PP paperwork, fill it out and go to the Sheriff's office in Erie. As I recall, they asked for a couple references
but they never called any of my references AFAIK? Oh ya, you'll need either $20 or $25 bucks, cash

I also had a great experience in Erie. Erie themselves do not require any references. If you get the form from their website they delete the space where the PA application asks for them. I just got mine there over the summer.

Also good to note PA law exempts you from illegal firearm possession in a vehicle if you have a permit issued by any other state. Also PA is an open carry state without the need to have a permit. So lots of options.
