NY Compliant AR-15

I recently bought an AR-15 that is NY compliant. Just wanted to know if the magazine is pinned, meaning it cannot be removed...What features are legal to have on the rifle? Pistol grip, Teloscoping Stock, flash suppressor/threads on the barrel? I bought it from a gun dealership and they said it meets NY compliance...

Just be sure that your pinned magazine has an easily removable base plate. Once you get a double-feed and cannot easily clear the jam from your range toy, you'll know why.

Hey Samps. I'm glad you're enjoying your new toy. Like it's sort of been stated, Yes if the magazine is pinned you should be good to go with the other features. Your dealer did not lie to you.

I saw a video of a locked magazine AR being shot at Davis, I have a question, When did they start allowing fixed mags there? They werent doing that a while ago... by any chance does davis sell fixed mags? (wondering if thats why they allow it to be shot) They say they wont let you shoot fixed mags because if it were to jam it'd be unsafe and difficult to clear. Last i knew they werent selling many NY legal AR's at all.

The Magazine, Is it a Polymer Magazine? If so and it has a big button in the middle of it, that button should release the floor plate and allow the rounds in the magazine to fall out, This can help aid in clearing a jam.

(the magazine base plate has nothing to do with the way its pinned, if you can take a photo of the mag release button, or if your not sure what that is a picture on the 'greater' trigger area. we can tell you, i'm kind of curious how it was sold)
