Hey guys there’s numerous gun shops near me selling these “Others” and yes I know the very controversy this firearm carries with it but would it be illegal if I were to purchase this and keep it out of NY state (in a state where this would be legal)?

If it was illegal in your state of residence you could not legally purchase it.

there is no law that I know of that says you have to store your guns in your state of residence.

Not true about it being legal I found in another forum where it stated that “The current position of the Council's office for the NYSP is that the arm brace makes the gun capable of being fired from the shoulder.
Therefore, in the opinion of counsel, the firearm is both; an assault weapon under NY State law and an SBR.

Therefore, it may not be sold in NY.

So my theory was if I purchased it legal in at my local gun shop and kept it out of state. If they ever recalled it would I have to bring it back though it’s kept in another state?

I believe so as long as you start off with a lower that wasn’t built into a rifle . I may be wrong though but think you may be able to turn a pistol into just a Firearm by adding that forward grip.

That was from almost two years ago and they are still selling them. It's also from Nassau cty and if left up to them nobody would have a gun. Not saying at some point they wont go after them but until then mine are safe and sound. You can always pin the mags if they say bring em back.
