This shit aint gonna protect nothin. There are 500 stations in the city. She's sending 750 NG and like 200 SP. So that would put 2 extra security people at each station. You know they aint having just 2 people at each station. They will do these searches at random stations, mostly in Manhattan. Most of the crime in the subway does not involve firearms, as long as the bad guys arent packing they will still get into the system and be free to push people in front of trains, assault etc. Just a lot of window dressing in an election year.

No long guns for the Troops posted at Stations, just as well as they aren't issued ammunition and there's a strong possibility of those machineguns being stolen by a mob.

Wait a minute. It's my understanding that in order for the National Guard to be deployed out of State they have to be Federalized? Did this happen? Or am I missing something? The National Guard must be Federalized or have a Presidential Command to leave their state.

They aren’t leaving their state are they? NYS governor is calling up the NYS guard members.

It will help one way or another. It will either deter some of the crime or it will be reported on less.

Do NG troops even carry handguns? Do they even have training in making arrests, - or even have authority to make an arrest? If not, they might as well just post signs, or put cardboard cutout figures in the subways. Maybe of Whorecul surrounded by NG troops smiling and captioned to tell subway riders to "have a safe ride" or some other such nonsense...

When you put the military in with civilians you will have troubles.
Unarming the NG is the same as putting anyone in camo and having them pretend to be in charge.

I'm not sure which lawsuit against the CCIA horseshit was opposing it, but as I recall one was fighting the not being able to carry on public transit systems, - including subways. Was it Antonyuk? They were fighting over not being able to carry on that tinker toy trolley system in Buffalo that basically goes nowhere... Hopefully, if and when it gets to SCOTUS, they rule that Whorecul & her fellow ilk cannot prohibit carrying on the subways in NYS, and then DO NOT differentiate between Buffalo and NYC's subway systems.

Weren't subways mentioned in Bruen as being somewhere you could not outlaw carrying?

There are some NG Troops that ARE credentialed LEO, but they are a small percentage, and the 42nd "Rainbow Division" (fitting right?) isn't a Military Police Division. Handguns are typically issued commensurate with MOS and Rank, but that that is a Unit decision.
I expect there is/was concern that Soldiers carrying unloaded Rifles in a location where they could be assaulted and retention lost to criminals would fuck the optics Hochul seeks. The Military does offer Riot/Crowd Control Training, but even a crash course takes time and logistics, and if you've ever witnessed the cluster-fuck it is to move even a few part-time Soldiers, you'll wonder how they got people out at all.

I don't think you're wrong at all. No way to tell now if you're right about all the details. But like you, I'm sure there will be mayhem regardless of who gets elected in '24. USA has been reaching a boiling point for years, the shit will hit the fan.
