Wonder how they plan to handle companies purchasing printers. I think we have half a dozen at the small company I work for. Does every company employee need to be checked? Will we need to put them behind lock and key and take them off the network?

Wait till you need a permit to order spools of material for the printers. That your order or PO goes to the county clerk for sign off by a judge! How the State will get compliance outside law for suppliers not to ship to NY unless to an FFL, and others run scared because they don't want a fight with a State that has deep pockets! Etc...

Out of the 99% remaining, I'll guess maybe 50% of them will be leftists.
When they get denied being able to buy a printer because of a silly class 4 felony for an illegal check from 30 years ago, they might get pissed.
I know for sure there are FAR more leftists with felonies than righties.

No "high capacity spools", you'll need a "keeper of polymer" certificate, have to ship to a licensed dealer for a background check.
Nope, nobody wants to deal with that, easier to just not ship to NY at all.

So nice to go places out of state, and you can walk up and touchy feely the box of ammo before buying it. You know if it ain't sealed, open it up to make sure it hasn't been fucked with before buying it. Just like it used to be for the most part in NYS.
Although, there are a few LGS in NY that don't give a rats ass and don't put the ammo behind the counter or lock it up behind lock and key.
