Realistically, there is no way "guns and ammo cannot be within reach of each other" in any modern vehicle. Not unless you want to pack one of them under the chassis. I can reach every part of the interior of my cab from any other point. Am I supposed to store my gun or ammo under the bed with the spare tire?

Fuck these ridiculous "laws", fuck these maliciously ignorant politicians, and fuck any "authority figure" who seeks to enforce this stupidity.

I agree. I generally put them both in the bed of my truck just to avoid any issues. Of course I always have my loaded pistol on me.

Yeah, not sure how it is legal. If it has a fin on the pistol grip, the stock is fixed and cannot be adjusted or folded and the barrel is not threaded is the only way that’s legal I believe. The only way to have ANY of those features is to have the magazine fixed, and I don’t know how you’d load it. Otherwise it’s a no go in NY. Correct me if I’m wrong , please.

Just a word of advise. If you are going to carry a long gun on a motorcycle, put it in a lockable hard case. And lock it. It will save a lot of trouble if pulled over. And if goes any further in the legal system, citing the federal standard to prove its not a concealed weapon would help

Talking with a recently retired Navy Fighter Pilot that flew for an airline after retiring. He said the new airliners are almost autonomous and the new crop of airline pilots are trained to do nothing except what the computer on the plane tells them to do. He gave an example of a recent incident with a young twenty-something co-pilot who was either so linear in his thinking or he just doesn't know how to fly a plane. They had 12 thousand pounds of fuel in the plane. A malfunctioning light went off stating they had no fuel. The young dumb and full of come co-pilot insisted that they could not take off and wanted to "follow procedure" which would delay the flight. The pilot said nope we are bypassing the light and taking off.

He how said no matter what he said or how he said it, the young pilot could not understand that the plane was good to go, and probably could not fly a plane without a computer, and we all know that computers never malfunction.

He then said on his last Check Flight, knowing he was going to quit. Flew the plane manually and freaked out the check flight instructor.

Those types of young and dumb troopers and cops that walked into grade school with Obama's picture gloriously hung at the entrance and have been indoctrinated by the Federal Dept of Education are the types of people I am talking about. Don't think they don't exist. I call them the never broke a sweat outside of a gym generation.

I too have a friend that’s a pilot and he said they have gone largely autonomous as well. He said it’s good and bad and of course you can override those things if need be. This guy I know is meticulous and I’d trust him with my life all day everyday.
I’m sure the young pilot was told he couldn’t fly a plane with such a warning light on and I’d think he would realize there was fuel in the plane, but I wasn’t there. I’d think a new guy would be cautious of bypassing if safety protocol.
Now back on topic and to the point of your post I would 100% agree and I have said it numerous times that’s what the BLM riots were about was to get more liberal minded cops on the force and force the old guard to retire, quit, or think twice about joining in the future. We all saw how that worked out. There’s a police shortage, a crime wave and yes a pilot shortage as well.

I rest my case and that is why airlines are so efed up today.

I just drove 700 miles using Waze App. At one point the app went crazy. Telling me to turn in 500 feet then 400 feet etc while I was on the interstate 5 miles from the nearest exit. This continued for about 30 seconds. Being 69 years old, I knew there was a glitch so I didn't turn in 500 feet. I guess I took a risk by questioning the computer. Then I thought, good thing this wasn't controlling a self-driving car.

Old-time pilots know how to fly. Young pilots rely on the app flying the plane and may not know how to "fly".

You are right. The procedure says don't take off because of a faulty warning light. That is my point. The same procedure that says do what the flight computer says. I'm not calling the Retired Navy Fighter Pilot a liar, he was telling a story that happened to him.
