NY Times: Older White Voters May Break From Trump

I know a few people who voted for trump that are very critical of his behavior. One of them just acknowledged that trump has to go. There can be no doubt that his communication style has antagonized a number of people that voted for him. Spat is also correct the press has done nothing but villify him as well. They have dropped any pretense of objectivity and are clearly partisan cheerleaders against trump.

The margin of victory Trump enjoyed was not very large. It is quite possible that 4 years of relentless dishonesty in the press combined with Trump's ability to put his mouth in his foot on a daily basis will lead to the first mentally deficient president in over 100 years (aka biden).

This is the scariest truth we all face today... someone needs to slap the shit out of Trump and make him "woke" to how he alienates people that believe in the Constitution and a free society but just can't get on board with him for another 4.

I just hope those people pull the lever for him and keep it their dirty little secret.

I see as does @BDinPutnam an alarming naivete to how precarious Trump's presidency is. The polls were not that far off last time, and the current polling shows him in a significantly worse position.

I would absolutely love to see him sit this one out and another republican run. He pulled off a great feat last time. He may again, but my money wouldn't be on it.

Call it pandering (it is), but if somebody like Nikki Haley (first female POTUS, blah blah) was running I'd be so much more comfortable in predicting another four republicans years. As it is I think we end up with president sleepy come January. I am also positive the bulk of republicans would rather see somebody else run. Somebody they can get behind. Somebody who doesn't keep making the endless stupid mistakes trump keeps making.

To me it seems quite simple. In 2016 we had a person disliked by the left against a person vehemently despised by the right. Now we have had another four years in which to foment and coax and grow and coddle the dislike of trump by the left and turn it also into a vehement despising. So the left really hates him now. But does the right hate biden? No. I mean, how could you. He's a bumbling old cretin. We feel sorry for him, we don't hate him. This is probably Trump's undoing.

Will never happen. He's been doing this for years. it's all he can do. He speaks to his base or what he thinks is his base. He has virtually no interest in not doing so, and has no problem at all alienating the other side.

This afternoon NewsMax was discussing polls that show it is likely, by large double digit margins, that Chuck Shumer will be leading a Democrat Majority in the Senate in January 2021, Pelosi will be Speaker, and Biden will be President . Stuff nightmares are made of.

At some point the democrats will again own congress and the oval. If not 2021, at some point. It's a terrible risk. I just don't see Trump as the best guard against it. I would love if he stepped down and I'm sure it would scare the shit out of biden as well. Get somebody on the right side of 60 who knows how to speak without getting their foot in their mouth and it would be their race to lose.
