Is it upstate gun owners, or upstate gun owners who are renewing (which does not happen) or upstate concealed carry applicants but not renewals (which does not happen)???

Why don't laws just say what they mean? A vaguely written law can be abused by the enforcers.

So what happens when they won the lawsuit against this in nyc area? They will apply it state wide through changed guidance.

The state’s Department of Criminal Justice Services said on Tuesday night that current concealed carry permit holders who live outside of New York City, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties are not required to take the training.

Later on, in the same article...

If you already legally carry a handgun, you don’t have to worry just yet even if your recertification date is approaching. “If you already have a permit you have three years from your recertification date to go ahead and get that training done so you have a lot of time,” explains Romeo.

As much as most of us hate NYshitty they're still a part of this state. They should fall under all the same laws as us good or bad. I'm sure that will be argued in court at some point but they shouldn't get screwed because they live down there.

I will say though that they should get screwed though for voting blue for so long. They're the ones that created the problems in this state
