he was not drunk!!! He was speeding, according to the article I read,otherwise a law abiding gun owner. He is facing 21 years because he has a shorter spring in the magazine and or no blocking device that lets it hold another whopping 7 rounds! I am not saying what he did does not merit punishment under the law, but 21 years for having a plastic box with a follower and spring in it seems a bit say REDICULOUS ? Some people can actually change a 10 round mag and shoot 20 rounds faster than some folks can shoot 17 or 20 rds out of 1 mag. A limit on how many bullets in a mag makes no sense when you think about it. Criminals will buy mags out of state say in Pa,where you need only money to buy one. Ny civilian gun owners can only buy 10 rders here, so all this law effects are target shooting law abiding people. How do our elected offiicials not understand this is beyond me.
