In what is a hilarious bit of irony for Democrat politicians in New York, a pub that had its liquor license yanked due to Covid rules has now declared itself an “Autonomous Zone” and is continuing to do business.
The pub had its liquor license revoked by the state and was slapped with thousands of dollars in fines after defying New York’s latest move to “orange zone status” (whatever that means) thanks to the very huge brain of “Emmy nominated” Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Co-owner Danny Presti told The Post:
At this point, we’re OK with it, because we’re not paying it. [The Sheriff’s Department] is issuing us $1,000 fines, so they keep coming back. We’re still here. We’re not letting them in.

If you're options are between:
- Go bankrupt from no business do to COVID restrictions
- Go bankrupt from state fines, eventually.
Is it really even a choice?
He will not be successful. He will fail completely in his adventure, I say good for him, someone putting their money where their mouth is. Kudos to him.
He will fail because he cannot win. The State will destroy him, his business and his life. Give it a week or so. Unless all of them are willing to band together, unless are willing to take up arms, they will fail. It is really that simple. A few others may join him, but only a few and I would be willing to bet, none will take up arms.
He has a line that says if they want the Liquor License to come down, Cumhole will have to do this personally. Words, just words. He will not be the one taking it down. He will send in his minons and this guy will cave, in time, they all cave.
Again, kudos to him for trying to do something to protect himself and his livelihood.

It's also a collective effort. It requires the police also band together and object to enforcing this sort of stuff because it's both a massive infringement of rights, and it makes them look bad in their own communities for carrying this out. It needs to be an effort from all people.
Cannot count on the police not to enforce this bullshit. If there are 10 cops in a group and nine say they will not comply, there is always that one that will.
I am to the point of not understanding what is viable law and what is not. I keep reading about the infringement of Rights, seems like the more I read about these infringements, the more I realize many people have no clue what they are speaking of. (Not directed at you, just the overall populace).

If the 1/10 enforces it, then that 1/10 should be shunned in every way legally possible to show disdain that they would do something so obviously wrong.
I feel bad for cops in the sense they have pressure coming from both sides -- but they pressure they should be taking more seriously is that of the people, since their power comes from the people and not the government. By the people, for the people.

On a related note, I heard a clip on the radio from Robbie Denison (gym owner in Orchard Park, sadly has a douche last name, not his fault) retract his earlier promise to reopen his gym today. His credibility just went to shit. Had asked all the other businesses to follow him. So while I'm not in this situation myself, he will lose support and be in the same basket he started out in. I am thoroughly disappointed. I thought he was going to go the distance.

One thing in his (bar owner) favor is he is not conducting business, he is giving everything away and asking donations,not sure how cuhomo's edict is written but it seems like it could be a viable defense to fight the fines.

That is the mentality that leads to "shutup and get in the cattle car".
But you are right, cops have been conditioned to enforce all manner of unconstitutional edicts, they will not stop here.
They will enthusiasticly round up anyone who doesn't comply with whatever arbitrary "covid" rules FUAC comes up with and send them off to camps if ordered to.
If FUAC says everyone needs to hop on their left foot only everywhere they go because covid, they will attack anyone who uses their right.
Once they started ignoring the constitution, rule of law went out the window. This will continue to get worse, until people make them more afraid to enforce it than they are to ignore it.
