NYC first city to end Qualified Immunity?

There is no evidence that they stole anything. Even if the plaintiff if all of what the plaintiff says about actually having more than what was turned over to the court, there is no evidence that the two people named did it whatsoever. It’s like if you claimed something got lost in the mail or fed-ex and you personally sue your local postal carrier( mailman ) with no evidence that the package ever reached him.
Now why should the postal carrier ( mailman) be sued and have defend it.
It opens a floodgate for just doing your job. That’s the very reason qualified immunity was created. You don’t want people sued for doing their job correctly. Criminals would sue every time they got arrested even if the cop did everything right. There is no evidence of any personal wrongdoing by those detectives even if the plaintiff ‘s case was given full value. And they were following the court’s directive to count what was found or given to them to count for the court.

So are lots of DAs prosecuteing with no evidence? So many the government needs protection from itself?

Maybe everyone needs it, since we're all subject to frivolous lawsuits.

Or maybe we just fix the god damned tort system instead of handing out free passes to preferred classes of people.
