Yeah Mahopac is a tad brutal for that..we only have IBM and Pepsi as corporate things in this County and even those two are basically in Northern Westchester(Somers). Faaawwgeeetabouuut it you got some land..good land..my sister pays over 20k just for land taxes, add the school and other BS taxes in..Bah..but it still ain't no Westchester taxes!

Tougher laws are never applied to career criminals like this clown. Instead, they get plea bargains. Then the political class bemoans the violence that never seems to end, as they let the next scumbag criminal out on a plea deal. But you, you vile law abiding citizen who is found to be in violation of an illegitimate law will be punished with the full extent of the law. It would be comical if it wasn't so sad.

And in Ulster, I had 5 acres and 4000sq ft home..total yearly taxes including school taxes..3000$ Miiiighty rural on my 5 acres backed up to 500 Catskill Mountain acres and me being the only house on a private road...

Who said Putnam was rural? And who wants to live 20 mins north?
Talking eastern Dutchess County now. Less property taxes, more gas and quality of life taxes. Time commuting, traffic on 22, wear and tear on a car and the driver. All add up.
Call 911 when you're having a heart attack? Good luck with that, where's the hospital? Food shopping, where, the 711?

No thanks, I live in White Plains. Walk to shopping, supermarkets, health clubs, etc etc. Don't need the acreage to mow and maintain. Time is money.

And each to his own obviously. Putnam is still 80% rural with most the County being the Watershed property and reservoirs and State lands to protect your and NYCs drinking water lol. Only the West of Putnam has spots that aren't Rural and yet it still is kinda. From there to the East it's all just spotted villages and towns. I can understand why you like "city livin" walk everywhere and convenience, we "semi rural and rural" folk like what we got..and not being mugged and listening to loud shit day and night..and you closer to city people like what you got..it's always gonna be a preference of the individual as is life in general. But to tell people what's good and bad or exaggerating things like hospitals(almost from anywhere in the County you can get to PHC or the few Urgent Cares scattered within 3 mins to 15/20 mins or up to Dutchess or down 684 to Westchester)I'm sure the REAL northern dudes here know that to be fast as hell lol!..and wear and tear on cars(driving in white plains will kill your car and brakes way faster then route 22 in patterson) because you prefer a certain way is ignorant in a way..no offense, as you see, just stated facts nothing to do with whose right and who's wrong.

there's plenty of woodsy, park like & reservoir areas in and around White Plains(obviously not in the city of WP)..plenty of them..
