One of my friends had to apply online. It took a total of 3 days. You have to scan everything into the application process and then hand carry it down to 1 Police Plaza. They make it VERY hard! God bless Ny and NYC ( )

Deterrent effect, make the process as hard as possible so people can't be bothered with it. What about the single mother who is on a limited income and doesn't have the ability to go through this process?

Im actually trying to do this now. Mine expires next month. Scanned and downloaded all documents and pics they required and paid. Now watch them say I missed something or there's an issue with my docs.
Anyone done this lately?

My friend was complaining about how it wouldn’t accept her passport photo. She is still waiting to see if her renewal is approved or not.

I used a passport photo app on my phone to take it and it accepted the pic. Actually said pass next to it. Maybe your friend can try that. It will not accept selfies though.
