Thanks for chiming in GOP, I can understand your feelings on the matter. No offense but that's what the last poll was for (if you would or would not want to have a nygf event). This poll is for the people interested in having an event to show where they are in the state, so that we can figure out the best way and location to have a potential event.
Okay so another bump here. Still need people to volunteer to be region coordinators. I'd say at this point for anyone in region G to send me a private message so we can start the ball rolling with getting a regional event planned out.
Just putting it out there that I was the guy who put his hat in to organize events for Region D.
PM me for more information and if you want to help or have a club space that you think we could use to organize events. There are a bunch of clubs up here it is just a matter of getting them to stop being fudds and host events.
I like 3gun style events but we can start doing whatever events people think they want to do.
Bump. Poll will now close 7 days from now. If you are someone who has voted in this poll and the one before it, I'm assuming you are interested in having some kind of range event. Please offer up your thoughts and ideas here in this thread. Also, we are still looking for people to step up and serve as region coordinators. PM me if you are interested (G and D have coordinators).
People in region G, please PM me if you would like to get an event going.
Talked with @Gonzobird about this type of thing turning into a state event, where the regional directors all come together once a year and put on an event with a stage from each of their regions. This kind of thing takes a lot of coordination and will require some heavy lifting from a lot of people to get it off the ground.
There would have to be a rule book to keep everyone on the same page. Regional matches scheduled so people can travel to events if they want to do more than just thier region. It can be done and using the forum as a center communications hub for the regional and state directors to coordinate things is a good start.
This could be a good time for the people that actually shoot on this forum. It will be a lot of work and unfortunately that is something that will always keep people away. They like the idea but don't want to put in the sweat to make it a reality. Unfortunately that is the reality of today's shooting sports, lots of talk, little if any shooting.
