Well I ended up getting my slide back today after all.
Since I can't have in NY an actual Roland Special, or even a Fauxland Special, I present what I am hoping the next best thing.

The NYland Special, with terrible pictures. Better ones coming.

First a list of a true Roland Special (along with what I kept or substituted)

The Roland Special (For Glock 19 Gen3/Gen4) has: I am using a Gen 4

Custom Pro Cut Slide Milling for Trijicon RMR
(this was done but not by ATEi, instead by Mod-K Armory)

Half Top Front Serrations (not done due to top window cut)

Enhanced Rear with added Front Side Serrations (ORM rear serrations, but added Front)

Slide Refinishing in Black Nitride (Tungsten cerakote)

Trijicon RM06 RMR (Trijicon RM07 RMR)

Ameriglo Suppressor Height Sights Black (Same)

KKM Precision Match Barrel with Comp (OEM barrel but with 10 ports)

Overwatch TAC trigger (Agency Arms Trigger)

Factory Minus Connector (NP3 coated factory minus connector)

TangoDown Vickers Slide Release & Magazine Release (Added the slide release, but OEM mag release)

Glock Stipple Package (Traditional Pattern 360 Stipple, Trigger Guard Undercut & Front Index points)

Pics arent the best and hope to get some better ones tomorrow, next is to find some time to put some rounds down range and see how it functions.

Also got the Gen 3 recoil spring mod to run a tuned 15lb gen 3 recoil spring and guide rod.

I'm curious on the noise level. Shoot that alongside your other Glock and let us know if the noise level is considerably more.

I'd like to have some work done to my G23 (slide serrations, finger grooves removed, under cut on the trigger guard) and I am interested in a red dot for it. I just don't know anything about it. Can you have select stuff done to your handgun or do you have to pick a "package"? What is the deal with red dots on handguns? Do they just stay on all the time? Sorry for the dumb questions.

Any clue on how all the holes in the barrel affect ballistics?

From the few reviews I have been able to find of their specific porting I have seen it comes to about a loss of 15-50fps, hoping to get my hands on a chronograph and test myself (the low numbers where from Mod-k Instagram, the 50fps was from an independent video on YouTube testing different carry ammo with stock, comped, and this porting)

But I am planning on bumping my carry ammo up to the +p version (124g speer gold dots or Federal HST) to offset any loss in speed and to also get more work from the ports.

I'm curious on the noise level. Shoot that alongside your other Glock and let us know if the noise level is considerably more.

And I am planning to, I'm hoping my one buddy will be free one of these days to go to the range and him to bring his G19 and do a nice side by side, or even see if he will let me drop it into my 19 to make it a fair comparison

So for the slide work can be done from many different good companies, or (and I do recommend others and also Mod-K) Mod-K also has more of an ala cart (top window is needed if you want the barrel porting) but the Flat Pack (what I got) seemed to be a great all around pick for myself. They also do have a new style of porting they just came out with that looks sick but cost some more and I'm good right now with these ones.

As for the Red dot, oh boy this is one cray cray rabbit hole that I love taking people down.

Some have auto shut off, some have a 3 monthish battery life or as with the Trijicon RMR (we will focus on the battery operated ones) they have a constant on never off and a 2 year battery life at the middle brightness setting (most people pick 1 day of the year to change the battery)

I think I'd take well to a red dot since with a rifle I have no problem keeping both eyes open. With a handgun, this is something I've struggled to do with iron sights. My concerns with them on a handgun were just with conceal-ability and with not knowing if they stayed on or if they were motion activated or what.
I don't think I'd want any porting of my barrel, I'd just want the serrations and maybe some dehorning of the muzzle end of the slide (like the gen5) and then the undercut and finger grooves removed. Don't know if I would want a second slide to have this all done on or if I'd just use my original slide.

I would deff check out Mod-K their sight (not the best) has different options on all that. Primary Machine also does awesome work that you can pick the stuff you would like, battlewerx is another good option, jagerwerks as well, @MilesTeg had real nice work done from somewhere. Lol its actually really hard to keep up with all the places that do slide work.


I eventually want to get my frame done as well, finger grooves removed, double undercut and what not, but that will be later

I am actually thinking of throwing the OEM recoil spring back in, it's hard to explain it but the 15lb one seems to be hanging up if I "press check" which I dont usually do unless dry firing lol but if I don't bring the slide back far enough or let it go home hard enough it hangs up, and I also seem to feel some slide play when I start to pull the trigger idk it's hard to explain but I also want to do some range time before I make any decisions but also check the OEM spring for function

I will have to say the Tango Downs slide stop is one of the best things I have added to be honest. It's not much larger than the OEM but so much easier to hit when I need to... but I also dont feel like I will hit it accidentally

Hahaha looks like the barrel likes whatever set up you where running.. it's funny now that mine is up and running I am switching back (from my G17) to my P-07 for carry.

The good news is unlike the P-07 I can run my NYLand Special without the RMR, I just need to order a cover plate

No, but I’d like to start with the ported barrel next time to see if I notice a difference going in that “direction”.
