After a 5 month wait, alongside the last 2 years of dealing with them to get my Rifle/Shotgun permit and my Premise permit, the NYPD have finally given me the pleasure of receiving a CCW :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Cost was almost 900$ between the 340$ for the CCW, 400 for training and 88.25 for fingerprinting

I would let the gun groups during nys what it cost you because the Supreme Court said permits are allowed but they can’t take too long or cost too much to obtain or that violates the second. Btw congrats and glad you stuck with it.

I have tried contacting them before, but never received a response back. I'm down to be a part of any lawsuit that fucks with the system here.

I just received my renewed Westchester pistol permit. I only submitted to get a 5-year renewal on my "target" permit since I cannot rationalize going through the 16-hour course, extra expense, and shorter renewal interval (3-year vs 5-year) just to get a permit to conceal a pistol when current laws preclude carrying almost everywhere.

When the BS NY CCIA gets a final ruling, I'll reconsider applying for an unrestricted permit.

New York, and especially Westchester, sucks.

It still boggles my mind how different laws have been in this state depending on where you live.
Prior to the CCIA it was pretty much the wild west in my county in NYS.
I believe I paid $63 for my unrestricted permit about a decade ago.
$50 for the course, $10 for the permit and $3 to add a handgun.
Here there was no such thing as restrictions. EVERYONE got an unrestricted permit.
No training required (except CCW course), no restrictions and it was relatively cheap and never expired.
Now the controversial part too some.......
Our judges did not contact ANY of your references and overlooked ANY criminal history that didnt disqualify you federally.
I know people who have multiple DWIs, possession of drugs and several other random records that would disqualify people in many counties.
I personally know the county sheriff who told me that if you can pass a NICS check, you get an unrestricted permit in our county.....period.
Our local judge puts announcements about upcoming CCW training courses on his FB page and encourages anyone who is 21 to get their permit. He advocates for women, disabled, abused people and other groups to get their permit.
Anyways, with all that......ive never heard of a single issue with a CCW holder using their handgun in a crime. and ive never heard of any safety issues with random formally convicted, untrained and minimally investigated CCW holders.

Last I heard NYC is "IN" NY State... State supersedes local law or jurisdiction. With the Bruen loss, there's NO WAY the CIty or STATE would allow a case to get inside a courtroom for a LICENSED NY State Resident (CCW) regarding carrying outside their so called jurisdiction. Will thy squeeze you? Sure, but any attempt at prosecution when they let rapist and murders walk amount to malicious prosecution...

FUCK NY!

Just watch out for those X-Ray Vans sweeping sidewalks for carriers. lol

As much as I hate the city (and I live here) it's to my understanding that local law, supersedes state law, and state law supersedes federal when it comes to firearms.

Hence why certain municipalities can make 80 percents illegal when it is perfectly legal on a state and federal level. This is why two counties or cities in CO cannot get polymer/80 percent items shipped to them. Why are tax stamps legal on a federal level but states get to dictate legality when it comes to NFA items that require tax stamps?

It's stupid but think of it as an upside-down triangle when it comes to firearm law. I'm sure there are many other laws that are enforced in kind.

I believe it's called preemptive laws. They are legal in New York, hence the hodge podge legislation that exists. Other states do not allow preemptive laws.

I might have that backwards, but you get the idea

There was but then the state appealed it and all CCIA requirements are in place. Also a word of warning I heard on another gun forum that the NYPD denied a premise permit for the applicant getting annoyed by the process because the NYPD had the wrong information and they dated this behavior is not indicative of good moral character. So the NYPD never gets annoyed or agitated?

Thanks for the info, I'm just worried that they will use my conservative memes as a reason to DQ me because they would label me a "terrorist" in their liberal minds.
