I e not heard k e positive response to this program. There are so many little things that make it not even worth doing. First it’s not free college as indicated but it covers tuition and only tuition. Fees are all still laid out of pocket and for UB a they are $3,500-$4,000 depending on course work. Also if you get any scholarships those come off the amount of the state gives you so any amounts are reduced.
Many people I talk to think it’s the whole lot and kaboodle and they get to keeps whatever is left over. Many still don’t understand there is an income cap. It’s hilarious how many people I’ve talked to that think their kids will just get everything free and you should see their face when I tell them that’s not so.

Will this be like the student loan forgiveness? Great headline and lip service to the socialists with so many rules and stipulations that barely anyone actually qualifies but hoho can say look at this free college I gave everyone.

To go to a SUNY school you need to be vaxxed.

My neighbor's son is lovin' it in TN at a community college down there. No clot shot needed. (Does require normal immunizations (pre-covid) though.)

When this program started, we looked into it for our daughter.

I forget the specifics, but they have a different definition of income than you might think.

By the time we got through the financial gymnastics, we were over the limit by $100.

I think all HS graduates can go to community college for free in TN. Their lottery revenue actually pays for something there.

Yes, pretty much, except books and other small fees. He lives in an apartment down their with a friend from high school and split the costs.

Way cheaper to live down there... oh, and of course both of them are gun nuts and TN is working out well for them for that hobby, versus NY.
