NYS Auto Ins. - Just have to RANT

I gotta tell ya this state never ceases to amaze me. Quick background I have Eirc Insu for my auto and M/C insurances....... I have always gone in and printed my ID cards to put in the cars and bikes.....Im finally putting my sticker on my bike and was gonna go to Ins website to print fresh ID cards for them..or atleats the one Im riding today.... and cant find it on the website...so I do the online chat...... according to the rep at Erie...NY now BLOCKS policy holders from being able to see or download their own Ins ID cards for their policies now!!!!! Ive always gone online to print them for years...and if I ever didnt hae it on me for whatever reason if on a traffic stop I Figured I would show it to them from the online app....That is so crazy...what adj would there be of not allowing someone to print thier DAMN ID cards from their online account. Oh Im sure for ID theft or something but still...SO DAMN CRAXY TO ME..it just makes everything harder in my opinion.

I thought ive heard you dont even really need them anymore as the coppers can tell from your reggie or something whether or not you have insurance?? I dont kow but im old school and I usually put them in my vehicles and bikes....but stilll.....NY this or that.....man this state crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Progressive lets me download my cards. I just checked. I believe they ok'd using an electronic copy of the card too.

They are feeding you a line of shit. My insurance company allows me to print my cards for all three vehicles. In fact, they sent me an email last week letting me know that all my ins. ID cards were ready to be printed.

I have Progressive. They dont seem to let me download the insurance cards or send them in the mail. They provide them through their app. I just screen shotted and printed them. I am old school too.

I just got an email from Geico where my Dune buggy is insured through and they just said that my ID cards are ready to download....went to geico and there it is.....1968 VW Beetle............so why would Erie Light about it..and take it away when it was there last year!!!!!

man O man...whatever..... its just fustrating.........I may take the time I will never get back and ask them or make them explain if NY blocks it how come I can do it for my other insurances that I dont insure through you?!!!!!!!!!!!

and I just did a internet search regarding it and dont see anything about a law or whatever and NY not allowing id cards to be online......infact seeing how everyone else.......progressive esurance and all the other saying hey go log into your account and print your ins ID cards.....what gives!!! May be time to bitch to my agent and put it out for bid next time.....I dont need someone Im PAYING for a service to LIE to me...I can get that for free at home with my kids!!!!!!!!!!!

Worse, way worse, is the cost of vehicle insurance. I pay around $1,000.00 annually to insure my '16 Silverado. Almost x2 what I paid a few years ago. I haven't had so much as a fucking parking ticket in +35 years... WTF!! OTOH annual insurance for my motorcycle, a '15 Indian Vintage, is about $200.00 per year.

I can download mine, no problem with Liberty Mutual. BTW! Progressive sounds tranny....
