I do not agree that signs have the force of law in NYS to ban you from ccw at a location. I have seen nothing to indicate this was part of the law and the faqs doesn’t support it either

I know some states have it as law. If they had a NO CC sign we used to just have to leave if they found us CCing

A modest but welcome improvement. Prior to this update my assumption was most public places were excluded unless there was a sign allowing concealed carry. That put the onus on the establishment to proactively announce concealed carry customers were ok which most would probably not do. Now the lack of a sign doesn't mean we are breaking the law.

NYS state is regrouping as "this will not stand! 
With the Law having been written that all businesses, residences, etc. are "Sensitive Areas" you are automatically in violation, which is reinforced by the "Weapons Prohibited" signs, that I suspect is the intent of saying the sign carries force of Law. (at least in New York)

The public places ban was lifted and if you watch the video he says public places generally open to the public the sign doesn’t hold power but other places it does.
It’s always been known that signs didn’t hold the power of law in NYS and I was surprised this law didn’t change it but I figure they thought what they did was enough and they didn’t need signs to hold the power of law.

Yes some states but in NYS they never have and I’ve seen nothing in the CCIA that changed that. I figure NYS didn't think they needed to do it because they banned us for carrying everywhere.
