In our great state an FFL is not good enough to perform transfers of pistols. You need a NYS firearms dealers license. To make it a little more challenging, in Orange county they don't even have an application for the license. They give you a pistol permit application, and you have to go through that whole process again, including making an appointment for finger prints, providing 4 references, pictures, and detailing any trouble you may have gotten into in your life. Well I just found out to renew the license you have to go through the whole process all over.
Just wondering if Orange county is an extra kind of retarded, or if its the same process in other counties.
