Everyday something more alarming happens in this state. You can be fined and arrested if your kids don’t go to approved schools.
I wouldn’t even care if they said you’re not eligible for government services if you don’t get an approved education or whatever but this is wrong.

I’m sure the Amish communities in NY will get right on this. Or the home school groups, regardless of affiliation.

I disagree with the take of this article. New York has a law that children must receive compulsory education. The Hasidic religious schools are not teaching any English subjects including math, science, history, or the English language. They are producing thousands of graduates who are only trained in ancient Bible study and speaking Yiddish and Hebrew.

Have you seen all of the graduates of a local high school? There are some that cannot speak English or Yiddish and certainly cannot read. That is not from an inner city school, it gets worse there.
