I always wondered how old Sunnking Recycling could do that and still make money. Now, this article explains that they were getting the money from the towns where they were holding these "free" recycling events.

Sounds as though people will still be able to drop things off at Goodwill? But when I have tried to drop off these kinds of items at Goodwill, they would not take them. So, that article seems wrong to me.

Oh well. The shit will just build up until it starts appearing on the sides of the road, and in store's dumpsters! There is no such thing as a free lunch...

You may not be allowed to stick an old CRT in the garbage, but you can put broken glass and plastic in there.

I work for a municipality and we were notified a couple weeks ago to stop charging for tvs and monitors. Sunnking picks ours up and we had been charging residents what sunnking charges us for disposal. The cost will now likely be passed onto consumers through electronic manufacturers having to pay. Or it all collapses and there will be tvs in ditches all over.

Just drop it off in the city around you and it will fit right in. The city of Buffalo looked like Syria last time I drove through it.

Same with me and my hot water heater. There’s laws about that and now you need a permit because they have to inspect your carbon monoxide detector. I have a few so I just took out my tank hot water heater, cut it up and put it at the curb. I then installed a new tankless hot water heater and saved about $3,000.

We just started charging for anything containing Freon. We used to get rid of refrigerators, freezers, etc at the scrap yard. Then they started charging us $20/item. So we now charge people to get rid of them.

Getting rid of the trash in general has gotten expensive. That's where the burn barrel or the burn pit comes into play. The burn barrel thing isn't enforced in this area. They don't care.
I don't even hide my barrel around back. There is no reason to. I live in the saner part of NY.
