It says in Rochester one is held in September .. Went online and found this
Your NY.GOV ID allows you to use online services from various NYS government agencies using a single Username and Password. For example, if you create a NY.GOV ID through the Department of Motor Vehicles or have used the Online Tax Center of the Department of Taxation and Finance, you can use the same NY.GOV ID Username and Password to login in and complete this training. If you do not have an NY.GOV ID click create an account to complete the training. The benefit of doing this is that you will now be able to use the ID you create to access many of the other online government services available from New York State. This will create a better online experience for you and increase your security.

I did this a couple years ago. It's not bad. There was some good info about what would likely happen with evacuations and such. They talk about the whole concept of bugging in or out and the different ways you'd prep for them. They gave us a decent little kit as well. There are people from the Guard as well as DHS who speak and take your questions.

If you're a self educated prepper, you're an enemy of the state. You'll probably be just fine if you keep your profile low. Two hours? Is this a common core prepper course? Anyone who thinks they're prepared after taking the state sanctioned course, I'll buy em a bus ticket to Albany if TSHTF.

Would be kind of interesting to see what kind of PG-13 prepping course they offer which doesn’t mention self defense and firearms.

It is geared towards the suburbanite who would starve to death if Grubhub went down for a week. If you have ever actually thought about the issue, it’s pretty redundant, but for the completely unaware, it would be helpful.
Also the bag they gave out had a couple of cool items in it. A pair of work gloves, a compact emergency food bar, some bags of water. Perfect for the car.

There was one by me a few months ago and was planning on going to it but something came up and wasn't able to make it. Nice that they give you a kit at the very least.
I get that us on this forum might chuckle at this...
But for all the sheep out there if this made .05% of them change their thinking and look at the world differently than they did before than it is a success.

That really is one of the most important avenues we all tend to let fall way side. It's not their fault they were put to sleep. Gullible .... maybe.
