Agreed, that was hard to see. I might have given the guy a moments doubt but I could have lost my life. The officers followed their training and survived unharmed.
I still wish the guy had cooperated.

First glance on the vid I was like that seems a bit much, but then broken up by frames you can see the guy with his belt gun and you can see he grabs for it. In other words, the vest cams that I think are a great idea show that the cops acted in the right here and a court would agree.

Could be a problem, unless the cops gun wasn't in the picture. Don't think he lost his sidearm. Just used what he had on hand? Wasn't the best tactical move. How'd the cop know this was a functional weapon, how many rounds were in it? Hell of a time to find out!

I would have to dig through training videos I had. But a few show how a cop has perp at gun point with his (perp) back to him, gun is in waist band, you would be surprised how fast it happens as perp turns to face LEO with gun and fires first, for many REASONS why it can be done against LEO. Plus he never needs to FULLY turn and face LEO to fire if he is trained perp....
