I wasn't there but this is probably what happened.
Neighbor starts flying buzzing drone, keeps flying over guys property.
Guy tells them to keep off my airspace!
Neighbor tells him to pound sand.
Guy shoots down drone.
Neighbor calls cops, lies.
Cop doesn't care about what happened; but gun bad.
Cuffs property owner.
