That's a wonderful point- and very true. At the musem where I used to curate, we had a group of older women volunteers (probably in their 70s) come in occasionally to help with mailings and things. Their conversations would make a sailor blush. It was mildly entertaining (and a bit embarassing) because it was coming from a group of post-menopausal grandmothers, but I see your point. There's definitely a double standard. I guess it exists because women weren't (traditionally) the ones doing the pursuing, if a man says the same thing it's aggressive or lewd because they (traditionally) have been.Interestingly, I sat in a table next a couple of ladies (in their late 40s I'd say) at lunch a few weeks ago. Their conversation started with talking about chewing the clothes off there waiter and headed straight to the gutter from there. My buddy and I were cracking up.
Men do not have a monopoly on lewd conversation.
What a wide ranging discussion... From politics to "bore punching" and gonorrhea, psychology, and now women's studies. I need a drink.
