So this one started when it came to light that Ballistic Advantage was discontinuing and discounting their Modern series target crown 5.56 bbl. Loving the quality and accuracy of my 9mm BA bbl, I jumped on the sale.
So this build consists of:
Anderson upper
Ballistic Advantage modern series 5.56 1/7 bbl
Spikes Tactical BC
Spikes Tactical chrome bolt
No name low profile gas block
Aim Sports free float M-lok hand guard (a real pleasant surprise here)
The handguard was only $50 and I am very impressed so far with fit and finish. It's a steel bbl nut and actually has anti rotation tabs ....at $50!
I only need back up irons (excuse the bulky carry handle and front sight)

I figuring to mate this up to the NYGF lower to do a fixed mag build.

I may actually pick up another one of these Aim Sports handguards to replace the old school delta ring and F front sight post on my M&P Sport upper.

I am also looking into fabricating some wood furniture for this build. I really like the contrast of parkerization and wood. I know there are companies that make wood furniture for the AR but they are stupid expensive. I'm thinking I can take some old shotgun for-ends and make my own. same with grips Etc.

That handguard is much cheaper than the competition. I personally found it to be worth the money and was pretty content with it.

Nice, I just finished 3 uppers today, two are 224 Valkyrie for a friend of mine and the last one was a 308 upper that I had all the parts laying around for a while. Finally decided to get off my rear and put it together. I have a green mountain barrel on the way for a 223 upper I am in the process of building. So many parts so little time.
