One Third of Republicans Will Leave Party if GOP Senators Back Impeachment

Regardless of what they do, I would be surprised if 1/3 haven't left already.
The GOP totally blew it these past 4 years. The Democrats are evil but the GOP as a whole (there are a few exceptions) couldn't stand up to them they have no balls. Everything that is going to happen in the near future is the GOPs fault for allowing it to get to this point. Screw them, the never trumpers, the rino's, the lincoln project damn them all to hell. They had an opportunity to save the republic and shirked their duties for personal wealth and enrichment.

It really is time. There is a chance for a third party to gain serious momentum, unlike in the past. If Trump takes the lead of a third party (America first, or any other name) it could help change things. The GOP has proven itself to be part of the uniparty. There are a few solid members of the senate and the house, but not enough.
Get a bunch of constitutional supporting moderate "america first" populist candidates
Bring in people like Tulsi gabbard, Mike rowe, I think you could appeal to all the traditional Democrats who don't buy into the socialist nonsense, all the Reagan Democrats, patriots, conservatives. It could become a very formidable party taking constituents and support from both parties if done correctly.
A third party would be a great idea...and it would instantly be attractive to people from many different political persuasions.
Centrists, right and left moderates, Trump people, and even the odd libertarian.
This idea will also occur to DemonRats - they will change this country so fast that there won't be any party but the Uniparty. And they will enact legislation to prevent it.
These people are, minimally, Maoist puppets, if not outright raving Maoists in reality.

Even a new political party will become corrupt without term limits.
Id actually like a third party option that was viable. I don't particularly care for our Democrat or Republican representatives.
I don't think term limits are the solution. Being in office doesn't corrupt people. All the money flowing into politics does. I'd start there.

I think term limits would be a huge step forward. Part of what gets money flowing into politics is people that are well established, and companies/PACs/etc donating to them to get what they want. The longer politicians are in office more influence they have. If they only get two terms, along with restructured terms for the Senate (4 year terms), then we could do a whole lot to stamp out corruption.
The other thing that needs to be done is how donations to politicians are permitted. There needs to be a spending cap for all levels of political offices. For example, a candidate for Congress would have a Max political fund of say 5 million dollars, a candidate for Senate would have a Max of 10 million, and a person running for president would have a Max of 50 million.
These are just numbers I pulled out of thin air to demonstrate my line of thinking. I'm not sure what realistic numbers would be and what it takes to run a campaign but this would help level the playing field.

I agree it’s the money but I think the term limits will get good honest people in there and I think it takes a while to make those dirty connections. If you can prevent that I think that’s half the battle.
I think term limits would go a long way in "preventing" the swamp from becoming established. There needs to be fresh faces and uncorrupted ideals.
The entire concept of a "permanent political career" should be abhorrent. It shouldn't be a goal or become a golden parachute to wealth.
Do a civic duty of becoming involved bin politics then go back to a private career. Get rid of this corruption and nonsense.
These politicians should literally be chased out with torches and pitchforks. They're screwing us all for their own enrichment and personal gain

I am all for term limits, but politicians will just use their short time in office to position themselves for a lucrative career after politics. They will still become rich by selling out the people. They will never pass any legislation enacting term limits on themselves. We really need a new party that will not endorse disingenuous candidates, and will expel them when they stray too far from the core values.

The only solution to corruption is to make the government impotent enough that it's officials aren't worth corrupting.
They need *just* enough power to keep society from coming apart at the seams. Any more is a sure path to hell.

I would like a new party similar to what many here have described. Minus the Christian Taliban who are hijacking the Republican party. People seem to forget the founding concept of separation of church and state.

The polititicians must get their "agenda" from the people. All spending bills MUST be made public before coming to a vote so the "voters" can see what is pork and what is not. They get elected and do what they want..not what the people need. RE-call vote should be made to keep them on their toes. NO oversea's trips. This may prevent side deals and bribes.

30% of the Republicans is more people than 100% of the Independents.
Also, that 30% probably attracts some independents too. It's not just Republicans who are dissatisfied with the deep state (of both parties).
Of course after the way the last election waw conducted, it may not matter how many people you've got.

Agreed however this will not happen at all under Biden’s leadership. Biden will expand the governments role, government handouts, and of course all this leads to expanded government power!!

We have reached a critical mass where the corrupt focus on increasing the corruption. It is a death spiral.
