That sucks, i’m really hoping i can get unrestricted with my reasoning. Its so stupid that so much money goes towards this process and they let you keep it at home.

Oneida county allows you to carry it to and from any outdoor activity.
That includes
Walking
Walking the dog
Bicycle riding
Hiking
ATV
Fishing
Range
And one stop rule. Stop at Walmart. Stop for lunch.
Don’t leave itnin the car unless absolutely necessary
Oh seriously? Haha i didn’t know this. I thought that it had to be locked up and what not while you’re in the process of getting to and from those places.

Mine took just a few days less than 6 months from the time I got fingerprinted at the Sheriff's office to getting my approval letter. Decided pretty quickly on my first purchase & called for my appt. to pick up my permit which was scheduled 6 weeks out. Lady at the permit office was very nice on the phone and promised this will be my last long wait. Next week can't get here soon enough lol! I'm expecting the default restrictions but like others have said, ABH.
BTW I asked a couple gun enthusiast friends what gun shops they like, and TRB's Guns in Remsen was mentioned by both as their favorite LGS. But I also discovered that a friend of mine who I met thru snowmobiling has a FFL and that's who I'm getting my 1st pistol from, and some ammo that he bought cheap to break it in. I'm getting a Taurus 380 TCP which has several favorable reviews online. I will likely be looking for a 9mm next and I'll be having my brother transfer to me our Dad's Llama 22 semi which he used to let me shoot sometimes when I was a kid.
When I took my safety course at Runnings (by AirWing Marksmanship) several attendees were impressed by the gun prices at Runnings. So I plan on at least doing some comparison shopping there as it's so convenient. I now look forward to their sale flyers that come in the mail! However so far my FFL friend has been able to give me some good prices and sometimes does group buys to cut shipping etc.
