Onondaga County Pistol Permit Wait Times…

Onondaga no longer accepts walk-ins. I should’ve gotten mine before I left for this mission.

this is ridiculous… the closest appointment is 38 weeks away JUST to go over my application with the pistol permit unit. That’s late March.. like what the hell?!?!? I didn’t know I lived in NYC. I genuinely find this unacceptable.

I called to try and have an exception to policy due to the current situations I have encountered down here at the border and the lady was extremely rude. I talked to some people and they told me to call back and ask for so and so. I will be doing that in the morning.

It may, But it is being heard in the fall a ruling may not come out until the spring. By then you will have had your appointment.

Not at all. That case will, at best, make all states "shall-issue." But it will not touch on when said issuance should occur. Does anyone really believe that, for example, NYC will start issuing carry permits if SCOTUS rules in our favor? Of course not. They'll find creative ways to constructively deny permits without actually denying them. Sort of like how some PA sheriffs on the NY/PA border refuse to accept applications from NY residents. They can't legally deny an LTCF without meeting specific legal criteria, so they skate around it by refusing to accept applications in the first place.

Heck, there's nothing stopping counties from doing exactly that. I mean, really, that's what Onondaga is doing to you, more or less.

Also, this "appointment to submit an application" bullshit is a violation of state law. While it may constitute a violation of our second amendment rights, the first stop is to challenge it at the state level.

This is why I tell people to use Warren PA.
You can download an application from their website and mail it with a $6 money order.
When you are approved in a few days, you go there and get your permit.
It was instant before Covid.
Now you have to do it through the mail.
