Buddy of mine had a knife in his carry on when we where leaving Turkey once... he almost missed the flight because of it.

i had a leatherman multitool in my carryon (it has the standard knife). cost me 80 bucks. they confiscated at JFK. said, you can either go drop and come back or we confiscate it. my flight was about to leave, i said eff it, take it. I replaced when i returned.

my Credit card style multi tool in my wallet, gets dinged everytime at security check (Westchester Permit office / PA permit office etc). i completely forget its there.

No doubt, flying can be stressful enough at times.

Same here.

I am very careful to make sure the multi tool ends up in the checked luggage.

I have lost a few of those credit card ones though. I never seem to remember them.

I have found them still in my wallet after getting through security too.

I bought a stainless one early on. Then I discovered that they have a big design flaw in the frame that leaves them prone to cracking, at which point they are worthless. Mine was one of the so called newer ones that they had redesigned and made the part that typically broke a little thicker.

That didn’t help me. Mine was not broken when I got it, but less than a full box of ammo later, it failed.

My 2 cents? Don’t waste your money buying a Tomcat.
